Kimberly Lindo: Young, Gifted and Black!

We all know and love her for being the sweet, soft spoken angel. However did you also know Kimberly Lindo is also a powerhouse in the community!

“I joined the club in 2013 and have been participating in community service, professional development and international service projects. I was the Director of Professional Development for the year 2014-2015 and have been recently recognized as the Director of the year and also the Rotaractor of the year from my club. I am now Vice President for 2015-2016 and will be inducted as President of this club for 2016-2017. I am looking forward to serving my club in that capacity and I look forward to the support from my family as I always have.”

The Rotaract Club of New Kingston (NKRC) is a community service oriented organization for young professionals (aged 18-30), that was charted by the Rotary Club of New Kingston in April 2004.  It is part of a global network of community volunteers known as Rotary International.  During the past ten years, NKRC has placed focus on giving back to the community through various service projects, some of which include our signature ‘Feeding of the Homeless’ project, refurbishing of the Nannyville Basic School, and hosting treats for children’s homes and places of safety. We also work to support the development of young professionals through Professional Development and Fellowship activities.Rotaract has the following goals:·      To develop professional and leadership skills
·      To emphasize respect for the rights of others, based on recognition of the worth of each individual
·      To recognize the dignity and value of all useful occupations as opportunities to serve
·      To recognize, practice, and promote ethical standards as leadership qualities and vocational responsibilities
·      To develop knowledge and understanding of the needs, problems, and opportunities in the community and worldwide
·      To provide opportunities for personal and group activities to serve the community and promote international understanding and goodwill toward all people

Below are a few pics of Kimberly at the last installation ceremony and of her participating in a few service projects.
